France At the present time ± 7% of the national energy demand is covered by renewable energy sources. Major RES is hydro-electric power. Cumulative installed capacity of PV systems at the end of 2006 = 40 MWp. Cumulative installed capacity of Solar Thermal installations = 933.000 m² = 653 MWth at the end of 2006. WE installed power in 2006 = 810 MWp. Wind Energy cumulative installed capacity = 1.567 MWp at the end of 2006.
