The Netherlands
At the moment, approx 1,5% of the Dutch energy consumption is met from renewable sources (mainly from waste, biomass, wind and solar energy). This is small compared with many other countries but is mainly due to the fact that the flat landscape and the small area of the country offers little scope for hydropower and forestry.
