Small Hydro Power Projects
This technology has been in use
in Europe for hundreds of years. More recently, it has once again attracted
interest, because of the advantages it offers in terms of zero emissions,
low operating costs, longevity and the use of indigenous resources.
But many of our small hydro reserves still remain unexploited, in particular
in Portugal and Spain, and many existing sites are in need of rehabilitation.
Great potential also exists elsewhere in the world, offering oppurtunities
for a mature European industry to compete in an expanding market.
