Wind
Energy Demonstration Projects
Wind energy has now been demonstrated commercially over a wide range of
climatic and topographical conditions. There are, however, more extreme
situations typical of some new or emerging markets, or aspects of existing
markets, where information and experience is very limited, but where significant
potential exists.
Demonstration projects have
promoted the development of large MW-scale machines, onshore and offshore,
as well as at unconventional sites, especially in cold, hot or dusty regions.
This experience has helped in the development of wind energy at sites
outside the EU.
